Got a passion for technology? Want to work for a company at the cutting-edge of communications?
A company with the financial and technical resources to turn your ideas into reality?
If so, then joining the ICT stream of BT’s graduate development programme could be the perfect career start for you.
What role could I do?
We are looking to recruit graduates into the following areas:
21CN Network Engineering – We build the foundation for cloud-based services and next generation communications on the world’s first converged network platform. This requires a genuine passion in fibre-optic broadband networks, cloud computing, next generation access, and voice over IP (VoIP). We are ideally looking for candidates with a Telecommunications background, with a passion for moving data and voice securely through our MPLS networks, Wireless, Optical Networks, Security-VPN’s and good-old-fashioned backhaul transport and access!
Systems and Software Engineering – If you’re passionate about web-based software, this is the place for you. Do you have a burning interest in the culture-changing technology and philosophy behind Twitter, Facebook, smartphones (i.e. Apple iPhone, Google Android, etc), Open Source, mash-ups, Wikipedia and retail sites like Amazon.com and eBay? The key here is a deep understanding of and enthusiasm for the functionality and concepts behind the applications, especially the content management and user-generated social foundations of the sites. BT builds innovative software platforms across our SOA in 21CN and beyond. We are looking for outstanding candidates with skills in Java, .NET, C#, AJAX, agile/scrum methodologies, Web 2.0, video on demand, video over broadband, IPTV, etc.
From the very start you’ll work on real-life projects and get valuable hands-on experience. As well as coaching, training and mentoring to help your personal development, you’ll also receive all the technical training you need to become an expert in your specific field – giving you the chance to turn your own innovative ideas into reality.
What should I do now?
Excited about the prospect of kick-starting your career with a fast-developing global company? Want professional training, and responsibility right from the start?
Then visit us at www.bt.com/grads for further information regarding our graduate programme, the opportunities available and a link to our online application form. The deadline for applications is 31st March 2009.
