The Black Country Children’s Services Improvement Partnership (BCCSIP), in collaboration with the University of Wolverhampton and the four Black Country LA’s (Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton), is offering a special opportunity for people thinking about teaching as a career.

Wingate Scolarships are awarded to individuals of great potential or proven excellence who need financial support to undertake creative or original work of intellectual, scientific, artistic, social or environmental value and to outstanding musicians for advanced training. They are designed to help with the costs of a specific project which may last for up to 3 years, with a maximum amount in any one year of £10,000.
There is no upper age limit and the Scholarship Committee welcomes applications from mature candidates and those from non-traditional academic backgrounds. Aberystwyth Postgraduate Research Studentship Competition
The competition for these prestigious research studentships is now open to all UK and other EU students who wish to study for a full-time PhD in any of the following departments at Aberystwyth University:

To be eligible you must:
- be a UK/EU fee payer
- have or expect to obtain at least upper second class honours in your first degree
- apply and be offered a place for doctoral study at Aberystwyth
The University’s general deadline for the 2010 competition is the 1st March 2010. Please note that the Department of International Politics and the Institute of Geography & Earth Sciences has an earlier deadline of 29th January 2010.
Successful applicants will receive a grant for up to three years which will cover their tuition fees and also provide them with a maintenance allowance of approximately £13,920 and access to a travel and conference fund.

Looking for a Graduate Job or Undergraduate Placement?
Then come along to the IT Recruitment Fair 2009, where you can meet national and local employers who will be exhibiting to promote their placement and graduate opportunities. Students will also have the opportunity to attend a wide range of presentations and workshops throughout the day.
The IT Recruitment Fair 2009 will take place at the University’s City Campus, MI Building, on Thursday 5th November 2009.
There will be workshops in conjunction with the IT Recruitment Fair (only open to University of Wolverhampton students/graduates):
How to write an effective CV
On average experienced recruiters spend only 30 seconds scanning through a CV. This workshop will show you how to write CVs that create an instant positive impression and that will increase your chance of being offered an interview.
FDM Group-Graduate Program
FDM Group will conduct a presentation to introduce their company and what they can offer graduates. The presentation will also include their application process for their programme.
IT skills are not enough!
IT employers are not just looking for people with technical skills. This workshop will help you identify the other skills that make you employable and show you how to market those skills to employers
