4th June 09, 10 am- 4.15 pm, Cornerhouse, Manchester
Artsplan, the training and publications department of Artswork and the in-house training provider of ENYAN (English National Youth Arts Network) has just announced a new date for youth arts training being delivered at the North West Artsplan Training Centre.
The one-day course, ‘Access All Areas: Disability and Youth Arts’, is an extremely well established course and is running on 4th June 09, 10 am- 4.15 pm, at Cornerhouse, Manchester
This one day course, developed in partnership with Dada-South is designed to encourage a broader exploration of equal opportunities within youth arts. Participants will develop an understanding of the importance of inclusive practice, through looking at political and cultural contexts, and exploring practical ways of ensuring youth arts projects and venues are genuinely inclusive to young disabled people. The course will leave participants feeling confident about their responsibilities, and inspired to engage in youth arts practice with young disabled people.
Jay Barron, Artsplan Development Manager, commented ‘This course is suitable for anyone working within youth arts, looking to learn more about the issue of accessibility and ensure equal opportunities are a natural part of their project planning; as well as those who would like to include the arts in their current work with disabled young people’.
All participants will receive a certificate of attendance upon successful completion of the course, and a wealth of practical resources and a copy of the ‘Access All Areas: disability and youth arts’ guidelines (RRP £7.50) . Prices for the courses, which include lunch and refreshments, range from £150 to £110, with bursaries available. Please also remember that ENYAN members can request a 5% discount on all Artsplan publications and training!
For more information or to book your place on the course, contact the Artsplan Team, via: artsplanbookings@artswork.org.uk or call 023 80682 535.
