Call for Applications with Fellowships to Start Between 1 September and 30 November 2009
We would like to inform you of a call for applications for the JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship for Foreign Researchers (Standard Award) for fiscal year 2009. JSPS is the leading research funding agency in Japan, established by the Japanese Government for the purpose of contributing to the advancement of science. JSPS plays a key role in the administration of various scientific and academic programmes, while expanding bilateral exchange between Japan and the United Kingdom.
The Standard Award provides the opportunity for Postdoctoral UK researchers and European and North American researchers based in the UK to visit Japan for 12 to 24 months to undertake cooperative research with leading research groups at Japanese Universities and Institutions. The programme is designed to provide researchers with first-hand experience of the research and living environment in Japan. Researchers from all fields of science including humanities and social sciences are eligible to apply for the programme.

On Wednesday 4th February 2009 The School of Engineering and the Built Environment will be holding a Construction Careers Day, which all students and recent graduates from the Construction and Infrastructure (COIN) Department are invited to attend.
The Construction Careers Day will open at 11.00am, students will be able to visit the employers on their stands or drop-in to the Careers Lounge and have a chat with the Careers Adviser on their CV and application techniques. A free networking lunch will be available from 12.00 that all COIN students are free to attend whilst talking to the employers. In the afternoon there will be a series of presentations given by the companies that are recruiting.
