The Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) in partnership with HRConnect are about to advertise a competition to recruit degree holders to middle management positions from early summer of 2009.
Along with a competitive starting salary, the Northern Ireland Civil Service are offering a number of Staff Officer positions with generous annual leave and pension, flexible working in most locations and high quality tailored training and development opportunities.
The competition will be open to all those who currently possess at least a 2:1 honours degree or final year students who expect to graduate with a 2:1 honours degree in June/July of 2009. Those with a lesser degree plus a post graduate certificate or diploma may be regarded as equivalent.
The competition is being advertised in the press on week commencing 1st December with a closing date for applications of Tuesday 23rd December 2008.

Camp Leaders is a cultural exchange organisation offering the opportunity to spend an amazing summer in the USA working on a children’s summer camp. The experience involves living and working with children. The types of roles at camp can vary immensely. Camp Leaders finds a position to suit each recruit individually whether as an activity specialist, general counsellor or support staff. Working at a summer camp helps to develop skills that will boost your CV, in addition to providing you with a life changing experience.
Entry requirements
- - You must be able to travel by 20th June
You are available for a minimum of 9 weeks
- - You have a passion for working with children
- - You have skills you can teach to children (i.e. sports, arts, music, etc)
- - Some previous experience working with children in a leadership role (i.e. teacher, youth leader, sports coach, etc) is also preferable
- - For general counsellors we are looking for enthusiastic individuals with an interest and some experience working with children.
We pay our participants a minimum of $930 (approx £617) based upon a 9 week contract.
We work with over 450+ of the top camps across the great outdoors of the USA.

The programme is open to final year students, graduates and undergraduates who have completed two years of Higher education and AS or A level in the language of the country for which they are applying. The posts in China and Senegal are for final year students and graduates only. There is no foreign language requirement for China.
Eligibility differs slightly per country. Students do not need to have a TEFL qualifications nor need to be intending teachers.
Assistantship provides an excellent environment for the development of personal skills essential for any career – self confidence and self-reliance, independence, problem-solving, teamwork, creativity, cultural awareness and communication skills.

Who can enter?
